Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pie crust (top and bottom)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel and slice the apples, placing them in a large bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, and cinnamon, then pour over the apples and toss to coat.
  4. Place the bottom crust in a pie dish and fill with the apple mixture. Dot with butter.
  5. Cover with the top crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 30-35 minutes.
