- 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons garam masala
- 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, chili powder, ginger, and garlic. Mix well.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade and coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Place chopped onions at the bottom of the slow cooker, then add the chicken along with the marinade.
- Pour crushed tomatoes over the top and stir gently.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Once cooked, stir in heavy cream and let it heat through before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
