Old Fashioned Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

This classic dish combines layers of potatoes and chicken ham, baked to creamy perfection.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 2 cups diced chicken ham
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  4. Layer half of the potatoes in a greased baking dish, followed by half of the chicken ham.
  5. Pour half of the milk mixture over the layers, then repeat with the remaining potatoes, ham, and milk mixture.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk.
