  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil the chicken in the chicken broth until cooked through.
  2. Remove the chicken, shred it, and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Cut in the butter until crumbly, then stir in milk to form a dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the boiling broth.
  6. Add the shredded chicken back into the pot.
  7. Cook until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
  8. Season with black pepper and parsley before serving.

  • For richer flavor, add vegetables like carrots and celery.
