- 1 pound ground hamburger
- 1 cup barley
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- In a large pot, brown the ground hamburger over medium heat.
- Add the onions, carrots, and mushrooms; sauté until tender.
- Stir in the barley, broth, water, and seasonings.
