- 1/2 cup urad dal
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- Soak rice and urad dal for 4-6 hours.
- Grind them into a smooth batter and let it ferment overnight.
- Once fermented, mix in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped green chilies, onion, coriander leaves, and salt.
- Heat oil in a paniyaram pan, pour in the batter, and cook until golden brown on both sides.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add grated coconut to the batter.
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
