Easy Chicken Teriyaki with Marinade

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a zip-top bag and pour marinade over the chicken. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for more flavor.
  3. Remove chicken from the marinade and reserve the marinade.
  4. In a skillet, heat oil and cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then add it to the reserved marinade in a saucepan.
  6. Bring to a boil, stirring until thickened. Serve the chicken with the sauce poured over it.
