Crispy Orange Chicken with Sticky Homemade Sauce

A delicious recipe for crispy orange chicken coated in a sticky homemade sauce.

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden brown.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey.
