- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar for topping
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Spread the cookie dough into the prepared dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, let cool slightly and then pour the heavy cream over the top.
- Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the cream and use a torch to caramelize the sugar, if desired. Alternatively, place under a broiler for a few minutes to achieve a similar effect.
- Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
