- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 4 slices rye bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized.
- Form the ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper. Cook in the skillet until done to your liking.
- Assemble the patty melt by layering the beef patty, turkey bacon, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese between two slices of rye bread.
- Spread butter on the outside of the bread and grill until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
