Chicken Tikka Masala

A flavorful and creamy Indian dish that is easy to prepare at home.

  • 1 pound chicken, cubed
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken cubes in yogurt, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, paprika, and salt for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Add marinated chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and cook for another 10 minutes until thickened.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with rice or naan.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more chili powder or fresh chilies.
  • Letting the chicken marinate overnight enhances the flavor.
